The challenge with this commercial was creating a lot of different environments in short amount of time. We did this by dressing a few different scenes on each filming location. My team and I created Steven Hawkings office, the Russian mission control centre and the teleportation lab at a College in Cape town. We designed around existing architecture and structural elements and embraced what we had to add to the overall set design. I absolutely love lo fi tech so designing the teleportation machine and lab was a real treat.

The opening scene is shot at a lecture hall at UCT, The Equation is REAL, a very smart lecturer kindly wrote it for us! To Trevors complete disappointment we didn’t manage to source a dinosaur, They had to do that in post.
