Shot on Location in Nepal

This commercial was recce’d and shot with a small team over 10 days in various parts of Nepal. The Art, costume and make up department consisted of myself and a friend and two local assistants. We sourced from local markets and tailors made up the costumes. We had to travel light, many costumes are re purposed. We did all our own aging and fabrication.

This was the most exciting project which took us on small planes flying between mountains, yak searching and “making a plan” every step of the way. It was a bizarre, unforgettable and hilarious experience which I had the privilege of being a part of.

*I took a fake rock all the way from cape town in my backpack, I knew in the script he was going to trade his bag for a rock, and I knew said rock was going to need to be carried by me.

*We hand crafted the actors goat skin thong with ancient tools in the lobby of a backpackers lodge up in the mountains!
